Rod Chart & Technical Information
Interconnecting Fishing Rods:
EMMROD has designed a unique Fishing System using rods that are fabricated out of stainless spring steel. This makes them very corrosion resistant and highly durable. A spring coil is formed in the rod to add flexability and allows for sensitivity and action. As coils are added, the rod becomes more flexibile (like a spring) which makes it better for lighter fish. So a 7 coil will have the best action for pan-sized fish. As coils are removed, the rod becomes stiffer which make it better for larger fish.
Matching the rod to the approximate size of fish you are fishing for will ensure the greatest action. Each pole includes one rod (of your choice). Additional rods can be purchased in the product section. The chart below is a guideline for choosing which rods are best for you:
Quick Release Quarter Turn Rod Connection:
All EMMROD handles and rods are designed with this interconnect Rod mechanism. By pushing in the rod and turning it 90 degrees, the user can quickly disassemble the rod from the handle for storage or for changing to another style of rod. The rod is pushed into the end of the handle where a spring is compressed allowing the handle to be rotated 90 degrees into locating slots. The spring then pushes the rod into position locking it in place.
Removable Rods create Compact Storage:
By removing the rods and inserting them over the poles, the size of the pole is reduced to around 14" disassembled length. This portability makes the EMMROD poles a favorite among Backpackers, RV'ers, ATV'ers, Boaters, Motorcyclists, Campers, Kayakers, Jet Skiers, and a host of other storage locations. Plus, the poles are virtually indestructible due to their unique, durable design. The pictures below show each design with the rod removed for storage or packing -

Adjustable Mountaineer Design:
The Mountaineer model is designed with an articulating joint just behind the reel seat. This joint allows the user to adjust the handle portion (short or long) to any desired position within 180 degrees. This offers the consumer the ability to position the handle in a position that best fits their hand for a more anatomically correct fit and also provides a way for adjusting the handle to just the right angle for use in a pole holder. |

Versatility of the Cork-Handled Poles:
The Gulfmaster, Mountaineer, and the Kayak King models are versatile in the sense that they allow the consumer to use one handle for various types of fishing. The handles of these three models are designed to be able to mount a spinning reel on the bottom of the handle or by turning the handle over 180 degrees the user can mount casting or bait casting reels on the top of the handle. The Mountaineer model adds another level of flexibility as it is adjustable for a more comfortable feel while using any standard fishing reel. It also will double as a traditional model, similar to the Kayak King, by adjusting the handle into a straight position.

Balancing System:
The Mountaineer and Kayak King models are designed to allow the user to attach various combinations of weights to the butt end of the handle. These weights provide balance to the pole at any point on the handle the user chooses. By balancing the pole the user improves comfort and minimizes fatigue to the hand, arm, and shoulder. The weights are held in place by a removable handle butt cap.
Counter weight package consists of 3 weights (.150 thick, .250 thick and .500 thick) as shown at right. |
